work > Elegy for the Iron Maiden

Elegy for the Iron Maiden is part of a larger work-in-progress. The video tracks my acknowledgement of the Iron Maiden's transition from a functioning car to an object.

For three days in 2015, I sat with the Iron Maiden in a mechanic's parking lot in Palos Hills, IL, accepting visitors, phone calls, presents, and my grief. The available video is a brief sketch of the experience.

I'm working on a performance that explores our story together, the roles of objects in our emotional lives, and how history accumulates physically and narratively. The performance will include fellow artists interacting with and changing the object. The Iron Maiden currently sits on a lot in Newburgh, NY.
