Search & Rescue Tour
with Andrew Beccone
With Reanimation Library founder and director Andrew Beccone, we visit some of the library’s favorite sources to search for acquisitions in New York City’s Long Island outer boroughs. After rescuing some delectable gems, the tour finishes at the library, where passengers are given an overview of the library’s cataloging and image-harvesting facilities, as well as collaborations. And perhaps whiskey. The tour lasts three to four hours.
The Reanimation Library is a small, independent library based in Brooklyn. It is a collection of books that have fallen out of mainstream circulation. Outdated and discarded, they have been culled from thrift stores, stoop sales, and throw-away piles across the country and given new life as resource material for artists, writers, and other cultural archeologists.
