Hi///Lo: For the Love of Art, Adventure, and Espresso Tour
with Ben Wolf
Artists have long used derelict urban spaces in the New York region, often derived from low-income necessity—from Matta-Clark to Basquiat to Stockholder. This tour is neither of fame nor fortune, as the artist’s practice is still alive, growing, and transforming. Join Ben Wolf as he resurrects moments from his libertine journeys of trespassing and creating unsanctioned art in New York City since 2001. Wolf’s installation-based work is on a scale and approach nearly impossible to realize in a traditional exhibition space. The tour will visit the exteriors of a few key places where Wolf will give firsthand accounts of the trials and tribulations, the stillness and magic that exists in those chasms of urban amnesia. Early-morning conversations about art and social change will be fueled by stops at some of Brooklyn's finest espresso makers. The tours last about four hours.
